Geospatial Solutions has used GIS analysis to help many local organisations improve their service, expand their business, or investigate local environmental issues.

Transport planning

Geospatial Solutions undertook a mapping project for Hermit Park Bus Service in 2006. This project focused on improving the bus routes for Hermit Park Bus Service, and was able to improve future plans that would cater for the collection zones around local schools. This project involved identifying all the bus stops in the Townsville urban area and overlaying their current bus routes and collection zones.

Identifying land for development

Geospatial Solutions has been able to assist urban development by assisting small and medium sized developers to find land suitable for development. This process involves analysis of our corporate spatial information to find land with the appropriate zoning and conditions to meet the specific needs of the developer.

Service information

Geospatial Solutions has been able to provide timely feedback to our regular customers that include builders, architects, project managers, surveyors and real estate agents, through the provision of spatial information including council service information (i.e. water, sewerage and stormwater drainage).

Identifying change over time

At Geospatial Solutions we pride ourselves on our ability to monitor, predict and assist local businesses through spatial interrogation, and on occasion have provided aerial imagery, analysis, and reports to help organisations assess changes in the landscape over time. For example, CSIRO have used this information to undertake an analysis of Para Grass infestation since livestock was removed in the 1970s from the Town Common Conservation Park.

Customised maps

Geospatial Solutions staff have a passion for the production of professional cartographic products and have created various customised products including map sets for pizza companies (in book format and as a large wall hanging) and local area maps for Real Estate agents and franchisee owners.
