The implementation of Water Sensitive Urban design (WSUD) has been identified as an important step in protecting aquatic ecosystems in the Townsville region from the impacts of development. To assist in the adoption of WSUD, the Council through the Creek to Coral initiative have developed this web based navigation tool called the “WSUD Strategy Roadmap” to assist the development industry access information and resources relevant to the application of WSUD in the Coastal Dry Tropics.
Navigate through the stages of the Development Approvals Process using the tabs at the top of this page or select a discipline to identify the most relevant information and resources for implementing WSUD in the Coastal Dry Tropics.
This WSUD Roadmap tool provides the development industry with links to “locally relevant” WSUD Fact Sheets, WSUD Objectives and Technical Design Guidelines (for civil and landscape designers). Links to additional references not specific to the Coastal Dry Tropics are also provided along with comments on the relevance of these references and caveats on their use in the Coastal Dry Tropics.
