The North Queensland Arts Awards recognise outstanding contributions made to our region's vibrant cultural life each year, and is an event hosted annually by Townsville City Council and proudly supported by Cox Rayner. The awards took place on Friday 12 April 2013 at the Townsville Civic Theatre.

The night was a glamorous evening of entertainment showcasing local artists, dance groups and theatre performances.

This year was the first year that this annual event has grown into the North Queensland Arts Awards to include the Burdekin, Hinchinbrook, Charters Towers and Palm Island catchment areas.  In the revitalisation process of this annual event, the expansion of the catchment area aims to increase the prestige for award nominees in the arts industry and to increase recognition for the value of arts in the community.
