Cotters Market

Cotters Market is North Queensland's largest arts and crafts market.  Over 150 stalls offering an amazing selection including:

  • LOCALLY MADE timber, fabric, leather & glass gifts and souvenirs
  • Pottery
  • Jewellery
  • Silk paintings
  • Art
  • Fragrant candles and soaps
  • Home made sweets
  • Preserves
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables

Cotters Market is held each Sunday in Flinders Mall from 8.30am to 1pm.

Flinders Street between Denham and Stanley Streets is closed 3am to 3pm every Sunday for the Cotters Markets. Stokes Street will remain open. A tow-away zone will be in place.  Any towing will be at owner’s expense.

Strand Night Markets

The Strand Night Markets offer a unique insight into the diverse North Queensland culture where a diverse range of entertainment and a huge variety of food, fashion, craft, jewellery, and home and leisure displays can be appreciated. The Strand Night Markets are held on the first Friday of the month from May to December at Strand Park from 5pm to 9.30pm.

Townsville City Markets

A new weekly outdoor Markets will operate every Wednesday (from 30 May 2012) in Flinders Square, Flinders Street, Townsville CBD.

The new Townsville City Markets will appeal to City workers, tourists staying in the City hotels, and tourists visiting friends and relatives. The new City Markets will add more retail choice to the Flinders Street precinct and encourage shoppers to the CBD.

The core trading hours will be from 10am until 2pm, although stallholders may trade between the hours of 6am and 6pm if they wish.

Stalls will offer fresh local produce, plants and preserves; jewellery, art and more. The retail mix will not include takeaway food  and coffee.

If you are interested in becoming a stall holder, we have 30 stalls (fourteen sites are under cover, the others will need a gazebo   or pop up tent, no larger than 3 meters square). Bookings for a site are essential, see contact details below.
