The Townsville Women’s Expo is an annual event and provides the opportunity for businesses and community service organisations to assist council in celebrating the positive contributions that women make in the community and in addition; showcasing and delivering a broad range of services and programs for the women of Townsville! The next expo will be held later in 2013.
The Inclusive Community Advisory Committee (ICAC) has been established to provide advice to council on current and emerging issues and policy matters within the Townsville Community. The committee acts as a key community engagement body assisting in identifying, advising and offering advice on policy issues to Townsville City Council: providing feedback where required on council projects; active participation within projects and initiatives as identified; and monitoring the implementation of the Townville City Council's Community Strategic Action Plans. Townsville City Council's Welcoming Babies Ceremony is held in January, June and October and is open to families who live in Townsville with a baby who is under 13 months at the time of the ceremony. Read more.
The Early Years Information Service can help with advice and answers to those day-to-day questions that pop up when raising children. The service provides free information, support and referral services for anyone who cares for children - mothers, fathers, grandparents or carers. The services enables parents to access information about early years and parenting services available across Townsville. Read more.
