Purpose of the Inclusive Community Advisory Committee
The Inclusive Community Advisory Committee (ICAC) has been established to provide advice to council on current and emerging issues and policy matters within the Townsville Community. The committee acts as a key community engagement body assisting in identifying, advising and offering advice on policy issues to Townsville City Council: providing feedback where required on council projects; active participation within projects and initiatives as identified; and monitoring the implementation of the Townville City Council's Community Strategic Action Plans.
The Inclusive Community Advisory Committee has an interest in promoting and encouraging an inclusive community and advocating for equity of access. These objectives are in keeping with the goals of the Community Strategic Action Plans, Townsville City Council Operational Plan (Social Sustainability - Enhancement of opportunities for social engagement and opportunities) and the Townsville Community Plan 2011-2021 'Leading, Creating, Connecting: Shaping a place to be proud' 'Strong, Connected Community'.
