Townsville’s new CBD will bring a breath of fresh air to the current dated and unfriendly mall. The new Flinders Street will be a retail and entertainment precinct that boasts a dynamic, fresh and people-friendly atmosphere. Townsville’s residents will no longer need to feel embarrassed by the heart of their City and the region’s 1.1 million visitors will be presented with a true representation of the vibrancy of north Queensland.

The new design will recapture Flinders Street’s historic role as the principal ‘high street’ of Townsville and will return the street to its rightful function as a flow through road. This will bring back activity to Flinders Street as it experienced years ago and create an environment primed to produce the result that the community wants and what businesses need.

Flinders Street will be a lifestyle precinct for the community that continues in the tradition of signature Townsville developments like the Strand, Riverway, and Palmer Street.
