The Australian government envisions that the National Broadband Network (NBN) will enable Australia to be a leading global digital economy by 2020. The NBN is a high speed broadband network that will connect all of Australia. Parts of Townsville are already connected to the NBN.
CityLibraries was chosen as the host for Townsville's Digital Hub. The digital hub is a place for Townsville residents to gain digital skills needed to enjoy the benefits of the NBN when it is available to them. The digital hub will also allow residents to experience the NBN in a friendly environment.
