2008/2009 Young Adults Hot Pocket Guide to Summer Holidays

The Summer Holiday program was aimed at 13 to 24 years old youths. Below are details about the programmed activities and a summary of the results.

  • 130 activities
  • Over 5,000 people participated
  • Minimal cancellations due to weather
  • PCYC partnered closing event, the Strand Beach Party although had to be moved last minute to Townsville PCYC due to the forecasted storm on Saturday was still a raging success with over 600 young people participating in the evening and enjoying both the amazing local talent on show and our guest appearance by Melbourne's Behind Crimson Eyes.

The aim of this program was to provide safe, affordable, and rewarding recreation; and leisure and skill development options for young people in Townsville during the school holidays.

The Summertime School Holiday program was proudly put together by Townsville City Council's Youth Development Team with a cross-council approach in collaboration with the Townsville Youth Council, Department of Communities, Department of Housing, community organisations, and local businesses.
