They’re regarded as the liveliest band to come out of Melbourne in years and they’re rocking fans in a free concert on the Strand tomorrow as part of the Dunlop Townsville 400 Race Week Festival.
Popular ’60s rock ’n’ roll revivalists Little Red are the headline act at the Townsville City Council’s free McDonald’s Youth Concert under the stars on Strand Park beach starting at 6pm.
Currently enjoying plenty of airtime on triple j, their latest album, Listen to Little Red, is jam-packed with toe-tapping melodies, infectious harmonies and exciting energy.
Huge crowds are expected to rock out to hits including ‘Coca Cola’ and ‘Misty’ at the drug- and alcohol-free all-ages gig.
Support acts are local bands The Truants and the Short List.
The McDonalds "Stranded with Little Red" concert is a feature of the Dunlop Townsville 400 Race Week Festival calendar and is being promoted as a drug- and alcohol-free event for young people.
Townsville 400 Festival committee chair Cr Tony Parsons said the Strand concert would continue to build the excitement for the Townsville 400 on the weekend.
"The Little Red concert is really going to get everyone in the mood for a big week," Cr Parsons said.
"Little Red are a fantastic R&B band whose style of music appeals to all ages.
"Fish and chips down on the Strand followed by a free concert with a great line-up of entertainment down on the beach – how can you beat that?" |
