Mayor's Christmas Tree Appeal

Each year, Townsville City Council assists families and individuals in our community who need help at Christmas, collecting donations of food, cash and vouchers. Proceeds of the Appeal are distributed to a number of community organisations to ensure that those most in need receive support.

The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal will provide approximately 30 community organisations charities across Townsville with food hampers and vouchers and collected gifts to feed and clothe families that are doing it tough. Recipient organisations have clientele that cross all boundaries of our community including children, women, migrants, indigenous people, prisoners and their families, the unemployed and homeless.

These organisations do not have the resources to run their own appeals. They help local people in need that do not receive help elsewhere. You can make a difference! All cash donations are tax deductible.

Donation points

The Mayor's Christmas Tree Appeal also accepts donations of non-perishable food, new or as new toys or gifts and essential items such as toothbrushes and soap.

If you're donating from your cupboard, please ensure you check the use-by dates on packaged foods.
