Our CityLibraries Home Service calls monthly on those who are having difficulty accessing other branches of the library. People of any age who are frail, disabled, or are carers can use our free personalised service on a permanent or temporary basis in their own home.

Selected material can be delivered, but most people like to come into the CityLibraries Home Service vehicle, if they are able, in order to make their selections. Access is made easier with the option of stairs with two handrails or the wheelchair lift.

For those who are too frail, a selection can be taken into their home for perusal. Staff can return to the vehicle and change the selection on the spot if required.

Retirement Villages, Pensioner Units, and Special Care Hostels are visited on a monthly basis and folk enjoy being able to browse the shelves, discuss and recommend books. It becomes quite sociable.

If you, or someone you know, is permanently or temporarily unable to visit the other CityLibraries branches please contact the CityLibraries Home Service at our Aitkenvale branch. A staff member will arrange to visit you to discuss eligibility and how we may help you.
