For Teens
Stuck with a homework question? Trying to decide on a career? How about trying the library for help and guidance?
Teen Space

All CityLibraries branches have a Teen Space especially for teenagers and young adults. Find out more about the gaming stations and what's on offer in these areas.
Online Databases
We have online databases to help with homework assignments like yourtutor, or just to satisfy that curious mind. You can explore these at home or visit the library and use our Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) computers or public internet PCs.
Youth Services Reference Desk
The Youth Services reference desk at CityLibraries Aitkenvale is there to help you with your queries. The reference librarian on duty can help you find that book/CD/DVD, guide you through our online databases, or help with your homework assignment. The reference desks at our other branches can also provide assistence with these queries.
School Holiday Programs
Our Youth Service Librarian creates a holiday program for each school holiday break. Programs are released two weeks before the school holidays with bookings taken one week before the holidays begin. Our CityLibraries listings in the Events Calender will show what's coming up closer to the time.
Children's Book Council of Australia - NQ Committee
CityLibraries is a contributing member to Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA). The CBCA gives regional children the opportunity to meet authors and illustrators and to participate in State events. The North Queensland committee is dedicated to enhancing the cultural awareness of primary school children and hosts events for school aged children in Townsville to promote literacy.
