We welcome all new members - adults, children, student, and concession recipients - for a nominal membership fee, so why not come and join?
Benefits
- Regular newsletters - What's On at the Library,
- Discount at local bookshop,
- Opportunities to influence the future direction of your library,
- Specials at book sales,
- Invitations to book launches and exhibition openings in Pinnacles Gallery,
- Widen your circle of friends among other library users with similar interests, and
- A sense of involvement in a valuable community asset
The Friends meet monthly at the Thuringowa Central branch - normally on the second Tuesday of each month, in the Hodel Room opposite the Customer Service Centre. We discuss upcoming projects and from time to time provide extra facilities needed by CityLibraries. Funds for this are raised by holding book sales, normally on the first Saturday of each month, at the front of the library.
We have supplied a printer, furniture for the Large Print area in the library, a map cabinet for the historical collection, a trolley for the TV/Video, chairs for the children's section, a screen for staff training and other purposes, a footstool for the Young Peoples' Area (together with the library), a community notice board, and refurbishment of a large display cabinet, four trapezoidal tables, and the cabinet which house the Kelso Collection.
New members are always welcome!
