Welcome to the Townsville Civic Theatre

The Townsville Civic Theatre is North Queensland's premier cultural facility owned and managed by Townsville City Council. Since its opening in 1978, the Theatre continues to be a dynamic centre of entertainment and provide an environment to further develop the performing arts in Townsville and the region.

The Theatre offers performances in dance, music, opera, comedy and drama from major Australian companies with international and national artists that complement the work of local performing arts organisations.

The diverse program is designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of the community including productions tailored to meet specific needs of youth, primary school-aged children, seniors and families.
