A Property Pest Management Plan is an integral part of an overall property management plan. A Property Pest Management Plan is developed by you with the assistance of Council officers for the strategic management of pest plants and animals on your property.

Once you have an approved Property Pest Management Plan, you are eligible for Council's Land Protection Subsidy Schemes, including Weed Control Equipment Hire and Herbicide Subsidy Scheme.

Subsidy Schemes

Pest Management Subsidy Scheme

Council is committed to assisting landholders fulfil their pest management responsibilities on their land. The subsidy will consist of 50% of the auditable* costs of pest control (incl. GST) up to a maximum subsidy of $800 per Property Pest Management Plan per financial year.

*The subsidy will be paid to an individual upon provision of a Pest Management Subsidy application form and tax invoice for the costs of pest control that have been identified and approved in that individual's relevant Property Pest Management Plan.

Weed Control Equipment Hire Scheme

The weed control equipment hire scheme assists landholders with properties larger than two hectares fulfil their pest plant management responsibilities. A Property Pest Management Plan is required to be eligible for the hire scheme.

Two 100L Utepack spray units and one 200L Quickspray unit mounted on a box trailer are available.

The hire of the equipment is FREE with a $100 deposit refunded on satisfactory return of the equipment.
