If you are searching for building documents of your Townsville home, it is possible the Townsville City Council may hold copies.
Copies of existing building documents
The Townsville City Council holds copies of building documents for most Townsville properties. To order or view building documents a search of council records form must be completed and either emailed, faxed, mailed or delivered to Planning and Development.
Before placing your order please be aware that there are some instances where building documents cannot be located for a particular property and therefore council cannot guarantee that all requests can be completed. Particular properties that may be affected include:
- Government constucted public housing;
- Defence Housing Authority homes; for copies of these documents you may need to contact the Defence Housing Authority directly.
On receipt of the completed application the available building documents will be retrieved from the archivists and will be made available either in prepared letter format for mailing or collection or alternatively you may view the building documents at the Planning and Development counter at Level 2, 103 Walker Street. Copies of plans and documents from the file may be obtained for a fee.
When placing your order for building documents please allow
- three working days for file retrieval of files to view in person
- seven working days for mailing or collection of specific documents
