About Us

The Construction and Maintenance Department serves the local community by managing roads and drainage infrastructure.

This includes:

• Roads
• Kerbs and channel
• Footpaths
• Drainage infrastructure

We also regularly compete and collaborate with industry partners, contracting our skills and services to commercial projects.

What We Do

As a result of our extensive civic responsibilities, we have expertise in:

• Roadway and pavement construction and maintenance
• Drainage construction and maintenance
• Traffic operations and network management
• Kerb and channel construction and maintenance
• Geotechnical laboratory services
• Project management
• Engineering design and survey
• Earth moving
• Streetscapes and
• Bikeways.

The Construction and Maintenance Department is proud to have played a major part in many of the infrastructure projects reshaping Townsville's built environment.

We continue to lead the way in terms of project management and delivery, safety, environmental management and training, maintenance, civil engineering and construction.

We operate with the following accreditations:

• Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2004, NCSI certified)
• Quality Assurance (AS/NZS ISO 9001:2004)
• Geotechnical Laboratory Services
