The Townsville Tourism Expo is a great opportunity for you to find out more about what you can do 'in your own backyard!' particularly if you have friends or family visiting, or simply looking for something to fill your weekend.
The expo will host over 30 local tourism operators, who are all excited to tell you a bit about themselves, plus there will be great prizes to win!

Are you a tourism business looking for more exposure?
Townsville is experiencing a population growth of approximately 3 per cent, which is above the state average. Consequently, the local market is particularly important to Townsville's tourism industry. The Townsville Tourism Expo is designed to promote local businesses to the people of Townsville, and subsequently promote to visiting friends and family, who account for 26 per cent of visitors to Townsville. The previous three expos have proved to be a terrific success, raising the profile of local businesses in Townsville.
In order to generate excellent foot traffic and attendance, the expo is held in conjunction with the Strand Night Markets. Previous expo's held in conjunction with the markets have experienced in excess of 7000 people in attendance, and the majority of exhibitors attending have expressed high interest in attending future expos.
