CBD Parking
With more than 1,100 free car parking spaces available at five major car parks in the CBD parking has never been easier for that trip to the city!
Townsville city centre parking includes a range of parking facilities from 5 minute free parking to 8 hour paid parking for all day parking in the CBD.
Regulated parking in the CBD is Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm, unless signed otherwise.
CBD free car parks
Free all day off-street car parks can be found at the corner of Leichhardt Street and Eyre Street, beside Eyre Street, at Dean Street, at Flinders Street between Queensland Rail and the new Central development and at the rock cutting in Sturt Street.
The off-street free car park at Dean Street is serviced by the City Shuttle bus service.
From 19 November 2012 the City Shuttle bus service fare will be $2 per ride. No concessions apply to this fare from 19 November 2012.

CBD paid car parks
Council operates a number of off-street car parks in the CBD offering all day paid parking. These are located at the corner of Walker, Wills and Stokes Streets, between Walker Street and Sturt Street, on Flinders Street East, Denham Street, Ogden Street and Sir Leslie Thiess Drive.

Parking charges
Parking meter charges are $1.00 per hour up to the maximum displayed permitted time, or $6.00 for a full day.
Meters with a time limit of up to 4 hours will only give you the amount of time designated for that area regardless of how much is coined.

Applicants may also submit written correspondence via email or post. Applicants must detail the vehicle's registration & penalty infringement notice/offence number. Audit requirements indicate that when submitting written correspondence for parking fines that the original penalty infringement notice and original ticket/s purchased from Council parking machines, muct be supplied. Photocopied documents are not sufficient for consideration of waiver.
