Learning Communities Leadership Group
The Learning Communities Leadership Group is a community forum of council which meets bi-monthly.
The group is a high-level reference group of dynamic and enthusiastic community leaders who are intent on providing access to lifelong learning opportunities and developing Townsville as a learning community. They are guided by the Lifelong Learning Strategic Action Plan which emphasises social inclusion and learning as an agent of social and economic sustainability.
Members of the Learning Communities Leadership group have a demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning. They are representatives from institutions, government and community organisations who have leadership experience in community learning, education and/or community service and/or business.

Learning Townsville Directory
This is a free resource connecting local learning providers with residents of all ages. Training and courses are available across a range of subjects including languages, music and literacy courses to special education, life skills, craft activities and computer classes. Visit the directory here.
This is a community based learning program that connects learners with tutors who can teach what they want to learn. These are free sessions that take place in the library branches. Classes are one on one or small groups. English classes for migrants and refugees are one of the initiatives run under the scope of this program.
