Townsville Regional Skills and Investment Strategy

Townsville City Council is partnering with the Queensland Government to identify skills gaps required for current and future job demands in our region. This approach will result in improved identification and matching of jobs in Townsville, guiding the training made available and supporting a ‘locals first’ employment approach.

The Townsville Regional Skills Investment Strategy (RSIS) is a two-year project focusing on three key industry sectors. The RSIS Coordinator will support broad engagement across these sectors and enable effective training solutions to be designed to support job outcomes. The Townsville RSIS project will be guided by local industry stakeholders through an engaged reference group.
