Castle Hill - Walker Street Connection
Council has commenced the rollout of the Building Better Regions project.
This project is funded by the Australian Government and delivered in partnership with Council, and aims to assist Council’s to enhance community facilities, provide a positive impact on economic activities, create jobs and encourage community cohesion and a sense of identity.
This exciting project will involve the construction of a new access platform walking track from the existing public carpark located at the western end of Walker Street up through to Jones Street Reservoir located above ‘The Cutting’ carpark.
The installation of the connectivity platform from Walker Street will provide a direct connection to the existing Maidenhair track. This project will provide an enhanced and centralised entry point from the heart of the city to Castle Hill for our community and visitors to enjoy.
|UPDATE: The Walker Street Connection to Castle Hill works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 3 August 2020 and are expected to take approximately 7 months to finish (weather and conditions permitting).|
Works may involve:
- Excavations and machinery operations

- Noise and dust
- Temporary carpark closure
Please note that for the safety of the community there is the requirement for the closure of the existing parking bays within the Walker Street carpark and the service road adjacent Castle Hill through to property boundaries for the period of the project.
Council has appointed a local contractor Wagners Group to carry out these works.
