Corcoran Park Upgrade
Council is committed to providing parks, sporting fields and recreational areas that promote active lifestyles, bring people together and contribute to the wellbeing of our city.
At present, the facilities at Corcoran Park have reached the end of their asset lifespan and are in need of renewal. Council is planning to transform and activate the area by installing a broad range of recreation facilities as part of the 2017/18 and 2018/19 Capital Works Programs. The first stage of this process has been the development of a Concept Plan.
Council will be holding a series of community consultations where the community can see the proposed concept, talk to the experts and give their input into the final design of Corcoran Park. Residents are encouraged to have their say about what new features they would like to see established in Corcoran Park.
Stakeholder engagement discussions and information sessions, including an online survey were held during May 2018.
Feedback received will help influence the final layout of the park and ensure that the proposed facilities will meet the community’s expectations. The final outputs of the community consultation process will be sent to detailed design, with works proposed to commence in June this year.
Townsville City Council would like to thank residents for their cooperation, patience and continued support during these works.
