Townsville City Council is renewing the Riverway boardwalk in Thuringowa Central.
This popular walkway which sees up to 3,000 pedestrian movements per day requires replacement to ensure the area remains well-presented and safe to use.
Around 970 square metres of timber decking will be replaced with innovative new composite decking.
This new decking is more durable and long-lasting, ensuring the boardwalk stays in great shape for years to come.
Work will commence Friday 18 March and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2022, weather and conditions permitting.
During construction, the boardwalk will be closed. However, pedestrians can still access the other pathways around the lagoons.
