Community Grants

Council's Community Grants support initiatives via the provision of financial assistance to the local Townsville community though a range of grant and sponsorship programs.

Community Micro-Grants Program

The Community Micro-Grants Program aims to assist Townsville community organisations with quick response funding so that they can make a positive contribution to the quality of life for Townsville residents through the provision of social services and community development activities, projects and programs.

Mayor's Community Assistance Fund

The Mayor’s Community Assistance Fund (MCAF) is an annual amount allocated in council’s budget to enable the Mayor to respond to requests for financial assistance from local community organisations. A small level of funding is available for local not-for-profit community organisations who are undertaking an activity that serves a community purpose.

Waiver of Park or Venue Hire Fees

Council has the ability to approve the waiver of venue and park hire fees for activities that meet certain criteria outlined in the page.

Community Capacity Building Grants Program

The Community Capacity Building Grants Program aims to build the capacity of community groups and community organisations through the provision of financial support focusing on improving the community’s ability to respond to local needs with local actions.

Festivals and Events Grant Program

The Festivals and Events Grant Program aims to support festivals, community events and celebrations which showcase Townsville’s talent, enhance community identity and pride, and bring economic and tourism opportunities to the region.

Community Photocopier Program

The Community Photocopier Program is open to non-profit sporting and cultural organisations based in Townsville. The copier is for the purpose of reproducing items such as newsletters, agendas, notices of meetings and annual reports.

Council is offering funding for innovative and creative ideas to encourage visitation to the city and ignite the city heart.
