About the Artwork
I had the pleasure of meeting Jandamarra Cadd, a man with a wealth of knowledge, life experience, and grace, and a dear friend of my dad. A descendant of the Indigenous Yorta Yorta (Northeastern Victoria) and Dja Dja Wurrung (Central Victoria), he is renowned for his legacy of traversing an unfortunate upbringing into a rich career as an artist.
After inviting me into his home, we sat and spoke about life—about creativity, nature, and the interconnectedness of all things. I wanted to capture a moment of his sacred reverence, a quiet understanding of the sitter’s perspective.
