It shocked us really, the kindness and generosity of the council to get on board and help us, keep the club running. It's huge for us so it obviously helps us financially and also the main thing is just keeping the kids on the park and getting the season continuing and without any the disruptions for training and stuff so it's fantastic.

It was a great initiative, and I would just like to take a moment to congratulate the Townsville City Council staff that came up with this initiative. They must have suggested it to the director of infrastructure who came along and said, hey, what do you think about this? I was like, this is a no brainer. It's a great thing that we can do for the community.

It is a big, big task. It takes a lot of our own time up to do it, but with this generosity of this mower that's come in, it's a lot bigger than what we had so obviously help us cut down those hours a bit as well so it's fantastic.

It's such a shame that this has happened here but anything that the council can do to assist we have and, yeah, very pleased that we're able to donate this lawnmower.
