First Tour of new Water Hub

Annmarie Grasso: It's all about Townsville water story and following the journey of water from catchment to tap. So the kids get to learn about where our water comes from, how we treat it the ways that we use it at home and then what happens beyond the tap.

Annmarie Grasso: This is the new water discovery hub that we've opened here at Douglas Water. So today's year four class is from Belgian Gardens State School. They've had a really great time here this morning. We've been learning lots about how we use water, how we're treating it here at Douglas and getting them to do their own little water filter experiment.

Travis Richards: They're going to be those that grow up and lead us into the future in Townsville so it's important that they understand early and can help shape us into a water-conserving community.

Annmarie Grasso: So we all have a role to play in caring for our water and inspiring the kids today will just help reinforce those positive and lifelong water habits that we want to see.
