Mayor Nick Dametto:
On the 25th of September, Socceroos will be playing Brazil right here in Queensland Country Bank Stadium. We'll have an activation on behalf of Townsville City Council. The whole street is going to be closed down so we can have market stalls, food trucks, entertainment.
Janelle Poole MP:
We have made absolutely no secrets that we want to make Queensland the events capital of Australia.
Mayor Nick Dametto:
Between 5,000 to 10,000 people in the streets here, maybe more.
Mayor Ronie Reed:
The Brazilian community is pumping. We are there because party is our second name.
Janelle Poole MP:
This is great for our tourism, for our economy, with over $5 million to be projected to be pumped in.
Mayor Nick Dametto:
Bars, restaurants, cafes full of people. Our hoteliers, sold out. This is an event that will sell out Townsville.
