About the Artwork
Adoration places the viewer in my shoes, capturing my senior dog Nugget lovingly resting his head on my favourite jumper. His grey fur, relaxed temperament, and soft gaze combined with the frayed fibres of my sleeve reflect the beautiful days behind us. As age and fragility progresses, our adoration for each other increases.
About the Artist
Tania Babic is a Ballarat-based emerging visual artist exploring the human condition and natural world through her realistic drawings of lifeforms, especially pets. Her paper-based pencil portraits of animals have been featured in selective national exhibitions, such as the 2025 Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award. She is currently commencing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT, after completing her VCE in 2024.
