About the Artwork

This painting is a poetic meditation on the fluidity of identity, time and space. Blowing iridescent, fragile bubbles becomes a symbol of capturing fleeting moments. My hope is that the painting evokes joy, curiosity, and introspection in the viewer.

Its title alludes to the quantum principle that knowing the exact time of an event renders its spatial location uncertain, and vice versa. The work celebrates the playful chaos of existence, where time is not linear, identity is not singular, personality is not fixed, and every breath might give rise to a new bubble—that is, a new world.

About the Artist

Elena Churilova is an established artist who spent 16 years living in Central Queensland before relocating to Brisbane. Her distinct lyrical style can be described as magic realism, blending reality with fantasy. Elena believes that good art emerges from the partnership of strong technical skill and a compelling idea. Working across multiple mediums—oils, pastel, and watercolour—she moves beyond purely representational techniques.

Elena has won numerous art prizes both in Queensland and nationwide, and she has been a finalist in many prominent art awards across Australia. She regularly exhibits her work in regional galleries.
