About the Artwork

I have wanted to paint Australian actor Ryan Corr since I saw his performance in The Water Diviner (2014) opposite Russell Crowe. I live with PTSD, which is why I was so taken by Ryan’s role and the depth he added to it. In person, Ryan is lovely and accommodating, nothing seemed to be a bother. It was fascinating to hear Ryan talk about the rigours he has to go through to get a role. I couldn’t get over how amazing his eyes were close up. I knew as I was drawing him in person that I wasn’t going to stop at just one portrait of him.
