Russell Solomon: Hi, my name is Russell Solomon. I'm an artist/sculptor located in South East Queensland.
I mostly use wire as a medium to tell the stories that are close to my heart. I also incorporate recycled materials wherever possible.
This year, I've been selected to exhibit in Ephemera, Townsville and my installation is created from recycled copper cable and recycled, repurposed milk bottle plastics.
My piece represents the iconic scene of turtle hatchlings about to embark on the perilous journey of life. It speaks to the issue of plastic pollution in our oceans and their impact on our sea turtles, especially in the early stages of their lives.
So, keep your eyes peeled and I hope you enjoy my piece.
