About Mayor's Christmas Appeal
The Mayor's Christmas Appeal has been assisting thousands of local families and individuals in need for more than 25 years.
This year, it is more important than ever to look after people in our community and make sure that nobody is left behind.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has affected every resident in some way, so this year the appeal will shine a light on the real heroes of our community - our local community organisations.
The festive season is a time to bring everybody together and to highlight our collective strength and resilience as a community.
We ask you to celebrate Christmas Together and donate, however small or large, to one of these local community organisations.
The gift of giving is priceless and your donation makes a difference.
By donating to a local community organisation through the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, you are helping people at risk, those subject to abuse and neglect, homelessness, illness and social isolation; those that are vulnerable, disability affected and those who don’t have anyone to lean on.
Your donation can help put food on a table for a struggling family, make Christmas a little bit brighter for a child who is alone, or provide basic necessities for vulnerable men, women and youth to get through the Christmas period.
