Tears of Time (detail) 2026

Stoneware
Wood-fired temmoku and churn-glazed stoneware
56 x 24 x 24 cm

About the Artwork

This stoneware vase was fired for 100 hours in the anagama wood kiln at Middle Pocket Pottery, NSW. Regardless of the interpretation as tears of joy or tears of heartache, time finds a way for our personal and collective emotional processing to heal and sustain the human condition. The featured teardrop handle details have been applied in an asymmetric configuration, symbolising the passing of time. Much like this ceramic piece, we too are often forged in the fires of change.
