Drivers will be able to park their ute, sedan or even a sleigh for free in all 2P parking spots in the Townsville city centre this December.
Free 2P parking will give residents and visitors the chance to shop, celebrate and connect in the city centre during the festive season.
Townsville Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said free 2P parking was a great excuse to head into the city ahead of Christmas.
Whether you’re wanting to pick up some Christmas gifts, catch up with friends and family or explore Council’s Street Art Trail, there’s something for everyone in the city centre.
Townsville Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney
“Townsville’s city centre has so many hidden gems, like our unique stores and bustling cafes and eateries, which is why we’re encouraging residents and visitors to head into the city and park for two hours for free this Christmas,” Cr Greaney said.
“Whether you’re wanting to pick up some Christmas gifts, catch up with friends and family or explore Council’s Street Art Trail, there’s something for everyone in the city centre.
“Council has some wonderful facilities in the city, including Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and the Flinders Street Library, which can both be enjoyed within a two-hour time frame.

“Drivers can park in any 2P parking spot and enjoy two hours of free parking – just remember that time limits still apply, so move your car once your two hours are up.”
Free two-hour parking in the city centre runs throughout December in all 2P parking spaces. Time restrictions apply.
