Meet new friends, learn an interesting skill or pick up a fulfilling hobby at Townsville Citylibraries' term two programs.
These fun, free and educational activities at Citylibraries Aitkenvale are designed especially for young people looking to learn new skills, explore new ideas and connect with others. The programs include Digital Art with Danya's Designs, Auslan for Beginners and High School Book Club.
Divisional councillor Andrew Robinson said the easy-to-follow term schedule made it straightforward for families to plan their after school activities.
"Citylibraries Aitkenvale is a hub of activity for people of all ages, including our children and teenagers. These programs are free to attend and are designed to support literacy, creativity, communication skills and social connection for our young people," Cr Robinson said.
"Recently, my daughter and I completed some Auslan courses. Not only was it a great learning experience, but a great time to further bond with my youngest daughter with a shared experience.
"I know how important it is to make sure your kids are engaged in meaningful and fun activities after school. I really recommend parents and caregivers take a look at the programs available and talk to their kids about taking part in these fun, free programs."
Each program is hosted in accessible spaces at Citylibraries Aitkenvale to allow children and teenagers of all abilities to attend.
