Update your address ahead of February rates

Townsville homeowners should update their mailing address by Wednesday to make sure they receive Council’s most up to date information and their rates and utilities notices for February.

Mayor Nick Dametto said it was important for homeowners to keep their mailing address up to date to avoid missing important correspondence.

“Homeowners in Townsville should keep their mailing address updated with Council to ensure they’re receiving their rates and utilities notices to the correct address,” Cr Dametto said.

“You can update your address quickly and easily by using the Change Your Mailing Address form on Council’s website, by calling Council on 13 48 10 or by visiting our SERVE Centre.

“If you want things to be even quicker and easier, you can sign up for eNotices by next Wednesday 28 January, to get your rates and utilities notice direct to your email inbox. This is the most environmentally-friendly way to receive your notice.”

Homeowners can check their rates balance throughout the year with Council’s easy-to-use Check Your Rates Balance tool online.

Council invests rates and utilities charges back into our community. For every $100 of your rates paid, $49.76 goes to roads and transport management, $4.43 goes to environment and sustainability services, $5.63 goes to planning and development, $4.73 goes to drain and stormwater management, $14.84 goes to cultural and community services and $20.61 goes to parks and open space management.

For every $100 of your utilities paid, $26.07 goes to wastewater services, $55.44 goes to water services and $18.49 goes to resource recovery.
