Video: Soroptimist Park resurfacing works underway

Townsville City Council crews and contractors are currently revamping the 31 space car park, including a dedicated disability space, that services the popular inner-city Soroptimist Park.

We’re down here at Soroptimist Park and as you can see behind us, the asphalt has been ripped up ready for a new chip seal.

Over 130 tonnes of asphalt will go down here, and making sure this car park, 30 car parks are in pristine condition in line with our Back to Basics blitz across the city.

We'll be also making sure the disability parking is coming up to a standard where everyone can be happy and proud of but also it's $240,000 investment in our city here.

It's a beautiful time to be enjoying Townsville the weather is picture perfect, it's a time of year we're all out there and enjoying the great outdoors.

We just want to make sure that while you're out there enjoying our parks, gardens, driving around their roads, they're at a level of service which you're happy with and can be proud of.
