About the Artwork
This painting is of my daughter and son-in-law’s dog Neo. Full of life and mischief, Neo rules the roost and you can’t run anything past him! He lives the life of a little prince, which, in Neo’s opinion, is exactly what he deserves. This painting depicts Neo about to venture out in the rain, suitably styled in his yellow raincoat, with his owner a barely noticeable presence in the background. His cheeky face, dominated by large, searching eyes, forms the heart of this piece. He’s ready, but somewhat suspicious of the weather-affected adventure that awaits. This painting aims to capture the joy and character he brings to our whole family.
About the Artist
Catherine Stewart is a primary school teacher who loves to paint. Her practice focuses on landscapes, florals, and scenes from everyday life. While largely self taught, she has recently attended several art workshops, having rediscovered her passion for painting after many years of raising a family and working as a primary school teacher.
