About the Artwork
This artwork shows my dog Frankie and I sharing a quiet moment on a small Sydney harbour beach on a summer afternoon, his head resting lightly on my feet. It aims to captures the simplicity, contentment, and companionship we find with our pets—the sense that they see us and accept us completely.

Elly Stalenberg is a wildlife ecologist and emerging artist, who lives in Sydney with her young family. Her intimate wildlife portraits draw on years of close scientific observation. They aim to capture the emotion, intelligence, and resilience of animals and the bonds they share with people.
