About the Artwork
This portrait is both a fond memory of a beloved companion and a piece about an earnest bid to be taken seriously even if it feels ridiculous. Maybe if our humble family dog (a deeply silly creature) can perform his hunting instincts with full commitment, then I can also try to take myself a little more seriously as an artist?
About the Artist
Schuyler Tin is a registered nurse whose artistic work centres on drawing. Her lifelong pursuit of drawing functions as a meditative process. Her practice is slow and methodical, offering a welcome refuge from a demanding career in healthcare.
