About the Artwork
True to his breed, Hunter is an alert, energetic Kelpie. In this portrait, I aimed to encapsulate his focused gaze, happy expression, and charming quirk of only one ear standing to attention. I want the viewer to almost feel like they can reach out and feel both his fur and friendliness.
About the Artist
Linda Weedon works across a wide variety of styles, subjects and mediums. Her animal portraiture taps into her love of living things. As the artist states, “I am inspired by how I perceive beauty, spirit and life, conveying this essence through my artworks.” Recent achievements include receiving the People’s Choice Award/s (Summer in Capricorn, 2023; Bayton Award, 2024); an Honourable Mention (Bayton, 2026), appearing in the Raining Cats and Dogs joint exhibition (Figtree Gallery, 2025), and in multiple group exhibitions at Emu Park and Yeppoon galleries.
