How to Enter

To enter, simply upload your photograph to Instagram and add the hashtag to the category you are wanting to enter.

If your Instagram account is private, click on your applicable category below to upload your photograph.

Winners announced on social media after Ephemera: Seaside Sculptures 2023.

The Photography Competition commences 9am, Saturday 22 July 2023.

The Photography Competition entries close 11:59pm, Sunday 6 August 2023.

Entry into the Photography Competition can be made through Instagram or through the competition link provided on the Ephemera webpage.

To enter in the Youth Category for under 17s, entrants must use the hashtag #ephemerayouth if entering through Instagram, and if their Instagram is private, entrants must submit their photograph using the competition link provided on the Ephemera webpage and submit under the Youth category.

To enter in the Open Category for over 18s, entrants must use the hashtag #ephemeraopen if entering through Instagram, and if their Instagram is private then entrants must submit their photograph using the competition link provided on the Ephemera webpage and submit under the Open category.

There are no limits on the number of entries per person.

The Photography Competition entries will be given to an industry-recognised figure to judge and select the winning photographs. The judge’s decision will be final, and correspondence will not be entered into.

The Ephemera Youth Winner, Ephemera Youth Runner-up, Ephemera Open Winner, and Ephemera Open Runner-up will be announced on social media after Ephemera 2023.

Ephemera Youth Winner (17 years and under) will receive a $500 Garricks Camera House Voucher.

Ephemera Youth Runner up (17 years and under) will receive a $250 Garricks Camera House Voucher.

Ephemera Open Winner (18 years and older) will receive a $1000 Garricks Camera House Voucher.

Ephemera Open Runner up (18 years and older) will receive a $250 Garricks Camera House Voucher.

The winners of each category will be contacted by direct message through Instagram (if their photo was submitted through Instagram) or contacted by email (if their photo was submitted through the Ephemera webpage competition link) after the announcement to arrange collection of prize voucher.

The winners of each category must pick up their prize voucher from Perc Tucker Regional Gallery.

If the voucher is not claimed or a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, Townsville City Galleries will select another prize winner.

The vouchers are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

Winners may be asked permission to have their photo taken which will be used on Townsville City Galleries' social media.

Due to privacy concerns, no photographs featuring individuals’ faces will be accepted.

No entrant can submit a photograph on behalf of another person. All photographs must be the work of the entrant.

Entrants agree to have their name and photograph published.

Winning photographs will become the intellectual property of Townsville City Galleries, for use in future promotional collateral. Townsville City Galleries may request a high-quality version of the winning photographs be provided for future use.

Townsville City Galleries accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Photography Competition or accepting the vouchers.
