Last chance to register for Welcoming Babies Ceremony

Date published: 1 February 2017

Parents of Townsville’s newest residents are encouraged to register their little bundles of joy for the next Welcoming Babies Ceremony to be held at Townsville Stadium on Sunday, February 12.

Registrations are still open for the 11am ceremony, but the 8.30am and 9.45am sessions are fully booked.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle said the Welcoming Babies Ceremony had become a lovely tradition for families.

“Welcoming Babies brings the community together with a special bond for the families and their precious newborns,” Cr Doyle said.

“The formal welcome is an exciting opportunity for new parents and their family to join in celebration.”

Each baby welcomed will receive a welcoming certificate, a plant and a gift bag. The baby must be 13 months old or younger to be registered for this event.

There will also be free family entertainment, a professional photographer and baby and family related stalls and displays.

Registrations close this Friday, February 3 at 5pm.
