Every year, Council welcomes hundreds of Townsville residents as new Australian citizens. Council runs Citizenship Ceremonies on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs.

Townsville City Council recognises that employees sometimes face situations of violence or abuse in their personal life and the affect it may have, that’s why we are committed to creating an environment where staff who may be experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) are supported. We are standing up, speaking out and taking action to end all forms of DFV and are proudly working towards becoming a White Ribbon Accredited Workplace.
