Council Meetings
Council holds regular meetings of its Ordinary Council, Standing Committees and Advisory Committees.
We may from time to time call a Special Meeting. Any changes to meeting dates or times are advertised in the local newspaper.
The Mayor presides over all Ordinary and Special Council meetings. The Chair of the Standing and Advisory Committees are detailed through the links below. All Ordinary, Special and Standing Committee meetings are open to the public except during deliberation of confidential items in the "Closed" section of the Agenda.
Meeting times and information are available through the pages below.
Townsville City Council Ordinary and Special Council meeting schedules, agendas and minutes.
We have a number of advisory committees, which are responsible for reporting to Council on specialised matters.
The Standing Committees enable complex or strategic issues to be discussed at length without the time constraints normally imposed at an Ordinary Meeting of Council.
We have a number of other committees and working groups, which are responsible for reporting to Council on specialised matters.
Community Council is a great way to speak to your local councillor, Advisory Committee chairperson or an executive staff member.
Townsville City Council streams live video and audio of full Council meetings to provide our community greater access to Council decisions and debate, while eliminating barriers that may prevent the public from attending in person.
