- Monday to Friday: 9am to 3:30pm
- Saturday: 9am to 2pm
- Sunday: Closed
- Public Holidays: Closed
The Animal Care and Adoption Centre is located at 69 Tompkins Road, Shaw.
Visits are by appointment only.
To book an appointment to view, or retrieve, a missing animal, please phone 07 4727 8371 or 0457 769 362.
If you have found a stray or wandering animal and want to report this to Council, please contact us on 13 48 10.
Reclaiming your Pet
To retrieve a missing animal in Council’s care, we must be contacted within five days from the date found.
What you need to know:
- Identification and proof of ownership are required.
- Unregistered dogs and cats cannot be released until registration and approval is completed.
- Release fees may apply (see the Animal Management Fees and Charges for details).
- Payment is by EFTPOS only.
Animals not collected after 5 days from the date the animal was found will be tested for rehoming suitability through the Animal Care and Adoption Centre.
