Venues, Locations & Opening Hours

Important Note

In line with the Queensland Government's easing of the COVID-19 restrictions, the following facilities have now been re-opened.

  • Riverway Lagoons - re-open from Monday 8 June
    • Maximum of 20 people  in each of the upper and lower lagoons at any one time.
    • Shower facilities remain closed until further notice.
  • CityLibraries Thuringowa Central, Flinders Street and Aitkenvale
    • Book your Library visit (A maximum of 100 people in the library at any one time)
    • Home and mobile libraries will also resume normal service.
  • Off-leash dog areas
    • Social distancing and appropriate hygiene practices are encouraged in line with the Australian Government's new requirements.
  • Loam Island Boat Ramp
    • Motorised boats and water skiing permitted on Ross River (including Black Weir), provided social distancing and hygiene are maintained, it’s within 50 kilometres of your home and outings are limited to members of the same household or an individual and one friend.
    • Ross River is still open to people who wish to kayak or paddle.

Closure Notice

Following the Australian Government’s new social distancing restrictions, Council has made the decision to close the following facilities to the public in order to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
